KING RICHARD: NOVEMBER 19, 2021

King Richard captures what it takes to set a goal and obtain it.

A sports biopic about the patriarch who helped shepherd the careers of two of the most famous tennis players in history. Despite having no tennis background, Richard Williams decided his daughters would be tennis stars when Venus was just 4 years old. He wrote a 78-page manifesto planning their careers and started training them at local courts in Compton. Written by Zach Baylin and executive-produced by the Williams sisters, Will Smith whoplays Richard, transformed himself into his usual star image but was still capable of tapping into the charisma that made him famous. An honorable mention goes to Jon Bernthal who portrays Rick Macci the coach with Venus and wants to put her on the traditional road to stardom.

Watching Smith bring to life Williams’s erraticism, uncomfortably mesh with Bertnthal’s (Macci’s) single-minded enthusiasm is just as pleasurable as Venus & Serena coming into greatness.

HOUSE OF GUCCI: NOVEMBER 24, 2021

Inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.

Adam Driver and Lady Gaga play ill-fated lovers Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci in Ridley Scott’s stylish film. Starring an ensemble cast that includes an unrecognizable Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Al Pacino, and Salma Hayek. The film mostly takes place in 1995, chronicling the events of Patrizia’s plan to murder her husband when he departs from the office.

TRUE STORY: NOVEMBER 24, 2021

Kevin Hart takes a leap into a dramatic role.

Based on the trailer, Hart is playing a character seemingly inspired by himself, an ultra-successful comedian named The Kid. Life appears to be good, but when Kid’s older brother (Wesley Snipes) shows back up in his life, it threatens to destroy not just the Kid’s career but could see more violent things unfold. Right now there’s little else to go off of, including what exactly is going to land the Kid in hot water, but there’s a serious desire to make this a heavy drama. Executive produced by “Narcos” and “Narcos: Mexico” showrunner Eric Newman.  Caroline Currier from Grand Electric and Mike Stein and Tiffany Brown from Hartbeat Productions all serve as co-producers. Stephen Williams will direct and executive produce the first three episodes while Hanelle Culpepper will direct the final four episodes.

BEING THE RICARDOS: DECEMBER 10, 2021

Oscar® winners Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem star as the power couple behind the beloved 1950s television sitcom “I Love Lucy” in Oscar-winning writer and director Aaron Sorkin’s behind-the-scenes drama, Being the Ricardos. An intimate glimpse into the pair’s often turbulent partnership, Being the Ricardos unveils the story behind Ball and Arnaz’s whirlwind courtship, their passionate love affair, and the burning ambition that made them leading innovators in the Golden Age of television.

THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS: DECEMBER 22, 2021

Since The Matrix Revolutions, fans have been curious to see what the future of the franchise could be.

Well, the wait is over, the upcoming fourth movie is easily one of the most highly anticipated new films currently in the offerings, and from the looks of the trailer will live up to the hype. Featuring the return of beloved characters like Keanu Reeves’ Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss’s Trinity with Lana Wachowski directing solo. Some of the cast from previous films are returning which includes Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson, and Daniel Bernhardt.

Hugo Weaving, who played the iconic Agent Smith, was initially approached for The Matrix 4 but he had to decline due to scheduling conflicts. Laurence Fishburne has also confirmed that he was not asked to return as main character Morpheus for the fourth film. However, several new actors are joining the franchise including Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Eréndira Ibarra, Priyanka Chopra, Andrew Caldwell, Brian J. Smith, Ellen Hollman, and Christina Ricci.

THE TRAGEDY OF MACBETH: DECEMBER 25, 2021

Joel Coen. Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand. bring the energy of a young Orson Welles to Shakespeare’s Scottish play, creating an almost horror-film take on all the power, ambition, and violence. True to the traditional tale, The prospect of a prophesied throne quickly curdles Macbeth and, egged on by his wife (Frances McDormand), to forgo his honor and plot to kill King Duncan (Brendan Gleeson).

Washington’s portrayal of Macbeth is, as you’d expect, brilliant, He’s less thuggish than some theatre incarnations of the character. A leader of some cunning as well as brawn-for-brains. McDormand, meanwhile, was always going to be convincing in Lady Macbeth’s ruthlessness, yet convincingly weakened when her husband largely abandons her for other concerns. Joel Coen, working for the first time without his brother, manages to deliver A refreshing take on an age-old tale and not lose any of the drama or tragedy.

SWAN SONG: DECEMBER 27, 2021

Writer-director Benjamin Cleary’s “Swan Song” poses deep, morally complex, and compelling questions about love, life, and sacrifice. Set in the near future, Swan Song is a journey told through the eyes of Cameron (Mahershala Ali), a loving husband and father diagnosed with a terminal illness who is presented with an alternative solution by his doctor (Glenn Close) to shield his family from grief. As Cameron grapples with whether or not to alter his family’s fate, he learns more about life and love than he ever imagined.

THE 355: JANUARY 7,2021

Directed by genre-defying filmmaker Simon Kinberg (writer-director-producer of Dark Phoenix, producer of Deadpool and The Martian, and writer-producer of the X-Men films). The 355 stars A dream team of formidable female stars coming together in a hard-driving original approach to the globe-trotting espionage genre in The 355.

When a top-secret weapon falls into mercenary hands, wild card CIA agent Mason “Mace” Brown (Oscar®-nominated actress Jessica Chastain) will need to join forces with rival badass German agent Marie (Diane Kruger, In the Fade), former MI6 ally and cutting-edge computer specialist Khadijah (Oscar® winner Lupita Nyong’o), and skilled Colombian psychologist Graciela (Oscar® winner Penélope Cruz) on a lethal, breakneck mission to retrieve it, while also staying one step ahead of a mysterious woman, Lin Mi Sheng (Bingbing Fan, X-Men: Days of Future Past), who is tracking their every move.
